The first annual Tennis Expo was held Saturday November 7th. It drew over 1200 players, pros, and fans, and exhibit space was completely sold out. Specialty areas included USTA's QuickStart demonstration, Sportime's Speed Serve competition area, and Virtual Tennis provided by Dave and Busters; all-day clinics featured Bob Litwin, Steve Kaplan, Frank Dolan, Lawrence Kleger, Carl Barnett, and Joe Arias.
If not, LET US KNOW! We believe that the people responsible for these courts are not aware of their condition. Or maybe they think we don't care. So we are gathering information about the condition of the courts on Long Island. If you know of a court that needs repair, let us know
Blair Seideman (Jericho) was the Singles NYS Champion! Hannah Camhi (Syosset) captured 3rd place. In doubles, Brooke Pottish & Lindsay Kantor (Westhampton Beach) were second and taking 3rd place was Diana Vamvakitis & Jaimie Hann (Westhampton Beach). In the consolations, Melissa Edelblum & Paige Mintz (Roslyn) captured the doubles title and Samantha Elgort (Half Hollow Hills East) was the singles runner-up.
provided tennis fun for LI Businesses. The winner was not decided until the last match, with the Sportime Executive team edging the Town of Islip team by a grand total of 2 games. In addition....
The USTA Eastern Section’s ongoing drive for used tennis racquets has resulted in over 200 adult, children, teams, and special needs players receiving free racquets. If your nonprofit or volunteer program needs racquets, please contact Bill...... Or if you’d like to donate a racquet look for our donation boxes at clubs across LI or email Bill.
